Skorpio Cruises: ROUTES

Skorpios has 3 available routes. The San Rafael Classic Route, from Puerto Montt to the San Rafael Glacier, with M/N Skorpios II. The Aysen Adventure Route, from Puerto Chacabuco to the San Rafael Glacier, with M/N Skorpios I. Both of the above routes go by way of the Northern Ice Fields. The Kaweskar Explorers Route, from Puerto Natales to Puerto Edén, visiting the glaciers of the Southern Ice Fields, with M/N Skorpios III.

Skorpio Cruises: ELECTRICITY

220 volts. However 110 step-down transformers are available on board for use with domestic appliances

Skorpio Cruises: SHIPYARD


The Skorpios enterprise builds its own vessels, at the companies Shipyard, which is located in Puerto Montt. This guarantees efficiency and security in maintenance, assuring punctual departures times.

Skorpio Cruises: INCENTIVES

Skorpios carries out incentive cruises for enterprises in all three of its routes. Consult for tariffs and dates, as well as a special pamphlet.

Skorpio Cruises: ADDITIONAL NIGHT

An additional night is available on the Kaweskar Explorers and San Rafael Classic Routes, for the Fridays and Saturdays before sailing, in accordance with the current tariffs. In the Kaweskar Explorers Route passengers can also obtain a courtesy tour to the Torres de Paine National Park and the Milodón Cave.

Skorpio Cruises: ADDITIONAL DAY

Only available on the Adventure Route, Puerto Chacabuco/San Rafael, for those Cruises that set sail on Monday. This additional day is Thursday and is obligatory in accordance with the current tariffs.

Skorpio Cruises: TEMPERTURE

Aysen Adventure & San Rafael Classic Route, in Spring – Autumn (low season)- between 8º & 18ºC; Summer (high season) – between 12º & 22ºC;
Kaweskar Explorers Route, in Spring – Autumn (low season) – between 6º & 12ºC; Summer (high season) – between 10º & 15ºC.

Skorpio Cruises: LAUNDRY


An on-board laundry service exists only for light articles of clothing.

Dress for the Cruises is totally informal, casual & for adventure. Remember to bring both thick and light clothing, appropriate footwear, a suit & tie or formal wear for the farewell gala & a bathing suit for the thermal springs (only Aysen Adventure and San Rafael Classic Routes)

PURCHASES

Aboard the Cruise Vessels is a shop with all of the articles appropriate for such a trip; rolls of film, batteries, t-shirts, hats, sweaters, parkas, etc. When visiting the fishing villages passengers can also purchase local handcraft articles.

Skorpio Cruises: TELEVISION

All of the Skorpios Vessels have TV, in some parts of the journey, however closed circuit TV with bilingual films is also available. Furthermore, and so as to record memories, all of the activities that are carried out by our passengers are filmed with professional cameras. These films are digitally edited and at cruise end are offered to passengers in VHS or DVD formats.

The Skorpios Vessels have satellite telephone connections, which permit passengers to call to any part of the world, in accordance with the current, local, tariffs of each vessel.

Skorpio Cruises: GASTRONOMY

The gastronomic style of the Skorpios is of a fixed menu, in harmony with the Patagonion recipes. It is based on meats, fish, sea food; however if a passenger desires a change of menu this is available at no extra cost.
During the Captain’s Gala Farewell a luxurious Buffet is offered.

If you make calculations, of all that is included by Skorpios & and divide it into a daily cost you will realize that it is an economic offer. In reality all is included & you final travel budget does not increase.

Skorpio Cruises: INSURANCE


Accident Insurance, Medical Assistance, Pharmaceuticals, Hospital and Emergency Transfers, up to USD$4,500.-. Loss of Life Insurance or permanent disability in case of an accident, up to USD$22,000.-. All of this is included in the cost of the fare, without extra cost, & is applicable after your personal Life or Health Insurance.

Skorpio Cruises: BAR

The Bar is always open, without additional cost for: wines, soft drinks & National and Imported Liquors.

Skorpio Cruises: LANGUAGE

The Language system of our Skorpios Vessels is bi-lingual (Spanish/English), Public Relations/Interpreter Personnel are aboard the 3 vessels. Besides Skorpios II & III have simultaneous Spanish/English translation by way of infrared earphones for all onboard chats.

Skorpio Cruises: BUS

Skorpios offers to all of its passengers courtesy transfers, from & to airports. In the San Rafael Classic Route the transfers from Puerto Montt, from the Airport/Skorpios Terminal/Airport, are free of charge from Friday at 09:00 hrs to Saturday 12:00 hrs. (with advance notification to our offices) In the Aysen Adventure Route the transfers are from the Balmeceda Airport to Coyhaique, then from Puerto Chacabuco & return. These transfers take place in buses & have duration of approximately 2 hours each way. In the Kaweskar Explorers Route, transfers are from Punta Arena to Puerto Natales & return. They take place on Fridays and Saturdays (consult hours according to flights)

Skorpio Cruises: MEDICINE

There is always a doctor onboard the three vessels. This service is free of charge, as well as all of the basic First Aid supplies, all specific medicines are the responsibility of each passenger.

Skorpio Cruises: FOR THE FISHING TOUR

This tour can only be taken in the Aysen Adventure Route, in the option of an additional day, this tour is free of charge for our passengers, but each individual must have their own equipment, we recommend the following: Trolling, or Fly Fishing Rods, sinking and floating lures, nylon fishing line for manual use of 0.40 with hooks for from 3 kilos a 6 kg. Weights for deep fishing; wading suit and boots.
Skorpios provides the following for fishing:
-Fresh bate for deep fishing. Boats with crew.
-Radio equipment with base in Quitralco.
- Nylon fishing line for deep fishing and life vests.
These are group tours, a personal or private tour cannot be guaranteed. All fishing tours are subject to climatic conditions.
